HISTORY OF CALVARY CHAPEL RIO VISTA
In the summer of 2004 Michael and Rosanna Sharps felt called by the Lord to start a church in Rio Vista. Pastor John Snoderly (of Calvary Chapel Antioch) laid hands on them and sent them out to start a work. There they started with a Bible study on Friday, January 7, 2005 at the Rio Vista Senior Center and then started Sunday Morning services two months later on March 6, 2005. They moved to the Veterans Memorial Building on Sunday December 5, 2005. In August, 2011 Michael and Rosanna felt their assignment was finished in Rio Vista. Pastor Noel came on board September 23, 2011. Calvary Chapel Rio Vista met at that location until June 4, 2012. Following the Sunday service the church packed up and moved to the new location, 241A Main Street, Rio Vista, California. June 30, 2017 we closed escrow on the purchase of our new (1926) building at 401 Montezuma. We moved in for our first Sunday service October 15, 2017. God is Good!!
